HISTOIRE DU MOMO 2ÈME PARTIE
MOMO'S STORY SECOND PART

Message.
(English follows)

First Day Inside.

In the spring of 2013, I found a message attached to the gray cat's collar. Unfortunately, part of the phone number was missing. I knew the area code, and I suspected that the first digit after that would be a 5 or a 6. I opted for a 5 since it was the most common figure in the phone numbers ot that part of the City. As I only was missing the last digit to complete the number, only 10 possibilities were left. I could have called each of those ten numbers, but I decided instead to check on the net the "411 Reverse Phone Number". Thanks to that application, one can find a civic address with  a phone number. The search was short. Only one person had a phone number that could have matched the one I was looking for because she was living a block away from my home. Without waiting too much and with some apprehension, I phoned. A lady answered me and confirmed that it was she who had put the message on the collar of the cat she nicknamed "Grisou". She explained to me that the poor beast did not seem to have a family, that he came every day to get food and that he had spent all winter in a dog house that she kept outside her apartment . She did not want to adopt him, already having two cats, but did not want to send him to a shelter without knowing if he had a family. I confirmed that he was also coming to eat at my place. Within a second, I made the decision to adopt the cat. But I explained to the lady that this should wait until fall, because I would have a very busy summer
The lady was relieved to learn that someone would take care of the cat that she found really nice.

As I had to wait until autumn, I was a little afraid for the gray cat. So many bad things could happen!  So I put him under the protection of my late dad. As my father's name was Maurice, I gave that name to the cat. It was my sister Claudine who, hearing the name, exclaimed "Momo le Moko" (Souvenir of a French film "Pépé le Moko, released in 1937.) The nickname" Le Momo "remained.

I continued to feed the cat all summer. He was really affectionate and always came to see me when I was outside. I think he was a little calculating... He came every day to the window and I felt that he wanted to come in ... But I held on well all summer, especially as big work was done on the roof.
The autumn finally arrived and one day I took Momo to the vet. He had fleas and was not neutered. He was between one and 3 years old. I had him vaccinated and fixed before I took him home.
In October 2013, Le Momo officially entered my home. Chausson and Princesse accepted him quite rapidly. They were used to seeing him at the window.
I thought three cats was a lot, but I never thought I'd go up to five.
In early 2019, Momo was diagnosed with diabetes. I give him Insulin twice a day and he has regained weight. His hair is silky again as before. Diabetes is under control for now.

Trio.

The Momo is the most "canine" of my cats. He loves to stick on me, knows when I have to give him his injection and sets himself up. He is very smart. He knew the misery of living a winter outside. Now he does not want to go out anymore. He has become a real indoor cat.
