En septembre 2009, j'ai décidé de faire une exposition d'ATCs (Artist Trading Cards). A date, j'ai fait 500 cartes et j'ai échangé la plus grande partie d'entre elles. Je voulais donc montrer les cartes de ma collection ainsi que celles de ma soeur Claudine et de ma nièce Geneviève. Toutes deux acceptèrent de m'aider! :)

In September 2009, I have decided to make an ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) exhibition. I have done 500 cards since February 2007 and have traded most of them. So I wanted to show some of the cards of my collection to people. I wanted to show some of my sis Claudine and my niece Gene too so I asked them and they both agreed to help me! :)

Quelques temps après le début de l'exposition, j'ai réussi (grâce à Claude) à rejoindre une journaliste du journal "Le Soleil". Elle s'est montrée intéressée à venir voir notre exposition et à écrire un article. La journaliste est venue avec un photographe. :)

Some times after the beginning of our show, I manage (thanks to Claude) to speak to a journalist from "Le Soleil" who was very interrested to see our cards and to write something about them. She came with a photograph. :)

Voici une vue générale de la librairie. J'ai exposé plusieurs cartes accompagnées de courtes descriptions dans des pochettes de plastique.

Here is a general view of the bookstore. I put some cards in plastic sleeves with short descriptions.




J'ai aussi placées les cartes que je préférais dans une armoire vitrée. Les photos qui suivent vous montrent quelques-unes d'entre elles.

Je voulais donc montrer les cartes de ma collection ainsi que celles de ma soeur Claudine et de ma nièce Geneviève. Toutes deux acceptèrent de m'aider! :)

In September 2009, I have decided to make an ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) show. I have done 500 cards since February 2007 and have traded most of them. So I wanted to show some of the cards of my collection to people. I wanted to show some of my sis Claudine and my niece Gene too so I asked them and they both agreed to help me! :)

Claudine accepta avec plaisir que l'exposition ait lieu dans sa librairie de Limoilou. Nous avions décidé de faire une exposition d'un jour.

The show was going to take place at my sister's bookstore, downtown Quebec City, since it was going to be a one day exposition.

J'ai fait un petite affiche que j'ai fait imprimer et que j'ai placée dans quelques endroits stratégiques , comme des magasins d'art et des cafés.

I created and made some prints of a small poster then placed it in some strategic places like coffeeshops and art stores.


Il ne fut pas facile de choisir les cartes qui feraient partie de l'exposition.

Then, I choose some cards. It was not easy.


Je choisis aussi quelques livres et zines.

Then, I picked up some books and magazines about ATCs.



J'avais ensuite à décider comment j'allais exposer mes cartes. Je choisis d'abord de montrer individuellement mes cartes préférées. À l'aide de fils métalliques et de petites perles, j'ai fait environ une centaine de petits présentoirs.

I then had to decide how I would let the people see the cards. I first choose to show my fave ones individually. With some metallic wire and beads, I made about a hundred small card holders.

J'ai aussi regroupé quelques cartes dans des enveloppes de plastique.

I also put cards in some plastic sleeves.

J'ai ensuite écrit de courts textes pour présenter chaque groupe de cartes.

I then wrote short texts to describe some cards displayed.

Et un autre texte pour expliquer ce que sont les ATCs.

And another one to present the show and explain what were ATCs.

TEMPÊTESNOWSTORM

Jeudi et hier, nous avons eu une mini-tempête. J'ai déjà vu pire, mais je devais aller travailler... J'ai bravement affronté le vent (avec des pointes à 100 km/hr) et je me suis rendue à ma voiture.... deux étages plus bas.

On Thursday and yesterday, we had a mini snowstorm. I had seen worst but had to go to work and with winds up to 60 miles an hour, I had to walk bodly to my car.... two floors downstairs.

J'ai décidé de prendre quelques photos. Voici la voiture de mes voisins. J'adore photographier à travers une vitre pleine de gouttelettes!

I decided to take a few pics. Here you can see my neighbours' car. I LOVE to photograph when the window is full of tiny water drops!

Sur la 1ère Avenue, le vent était très fort! A gauche, c'est l'hôpital où j'ai été opérée au début du mois...

On the First Avenue, there was a very windy wind! At the left is the hospital where I got my surgery at the beginning of the month.

Après le travail, vers 17 heures, j'ai remarqué ce petit arbre devant la caisse populaire... Je ne l'avais jamais vu...

Coming back from work, I saw this small tree in front of the bank. Never had noticed it...

Et mes voisins s'étaient fabriqué un nouvel ami..... :)

And my neighbours had made a new friend... :)

Étrange étrange..... moi j'ai dit étrange? Comme c'est étrange....

Elle est mon modèle préféré. Geneviève, la fille de ma soeurette. Et comme elle fait du théâtre depuis 3 ans, c'est très agréable de la faire poser! Et elle adoooore poser pour moi! :)

She's my fave model. Geneviève, my lil sistah's daughter. She has been playacting for 3 years now and it certainly helps her. But she's a natural born actress!
