ILLUSTRATIONFRIDAY: STRENGTH

La force est intérieure. Strength is inside us.

To have strength is to live.
The strength to fight.
The strength to defy our own demons.
The strength to love in spite of hatred.
The strength to forgive in spite of fear.
The strength to go on without the presence of the Other.
And at the End, the strength to give up.
Give up Life itself.

Those are very meaningful words, and your image goes so well with them. I love the combination of line and color here...you have a great way of creating a surface pattern that enhances the form within. Lovely work:>

This is a very creative submission! I love the randomness of the painted background with the strong face peeping through!

Le fond me fait penser à une fractale. Bô set de couleurs.

Merci à vous toutes. Thanks to all of you girls. In fact, this is not a painting. It is a collage made with different colored silk paper. I drew the face with a black pen and made the kind of arrows with acrylic paint. The original colours were yellow, red and black. I scanned the collage and transformed it with photoshop. Old and new techniques as you can see. But really, as MARION said, I prefer the poem... Kinda.....

I really like this, MP: the colors, the feeling of struggle midst finding strength. And the poem is wonderful! Thanks.

There's lot of power in the mixture of colors- and a good poem as well. The most powerfull strength in the world is the ability to say "no" and not worry about the consequences.

Ginnie: Merci! I've taken a look at your blog and love it. And the wolf is one of my totem animal...
Tony: You are right. And wrong. Say no is hard but sometimes we have to. But I think we always have to worry about the consequences of our actions... At least to be aware of...

Paula: Very true, fighting for what you believe is sometimes very difficult! And thanks for the compliment.
