UNE MINI-EXPOSITION
A ONE-DAY SHOW
J'essaie de faire connaître les ATC ici à Québec. J'ai décidé de faire une mini-exposition d'un jour à la librairie de ma soeur. J'ai posé quelques affiches, préparé des cartes..... J'espère que ça va marcher... un peu... Peut-être que je vais réussir à intéresser 2 ou 3 personnes... *soupir*... Pô facile la vie d'artiste.....
I'm trying to let the people know here in Quebec City about ATCs.... So I've decided to make a one-day show on the 31rst of October at my sis' bookstore. I've made a poster, prepared some cards.... Hope it will work.... Maybe 2 or 3 people in this City will have some interrest..... *sigh*...

33 ANS ET DES POUSSIÈRES PLUS TARD...
33 YEARS MORE OR LESS LATER...
J'ai commencé à faire de la photo en 1964... J'ai conservé tous mes négatifs et toutes mes diapositives. Ça fait beaucoup!!! J'adore reprendre des photos que j'avais déjà faites. Geneviève grandissant, ça me permet de refaire des images que j'avais prises de sa mère il y a de nombreuses années.
Cette robe vient d'Afrique. Ma petite tante Rita l'avait donnée à Claudine en 1973, je crois. J'adore la photo que j'avais prise de Claudine sur le terrain de mes parents en 1975. Elle demeure encore aujourd'hui une de mes préférées.
L'année dernière, j'ai décidé de reprendre la photo, avec Geneviève cette fois-ci. L'image n'est pas aussi bonne. La période de l'année est différente. Geneviève n'avait que 13 ans alors que sa mère en avait 16. La profondeur de champs est plus grande dans la deuxième photo. Puis il y avait les fourmis, qui grimpaient sur ma pauvre nièce... :) Je n'ai donc pu prendre qu'une seule image. Mais la photo de Geneviève demeure intéressante. On y voit la ressemblance avec sa mère. On constate les changements du terrain. L'arbre est beaucoup plus gros! Je pense que je vais essayer de refaire la même photo en mai 2011... si Dieu le veut...
I took my first pic in 1964... I've kept all my negatives and slides. That means a lot of images!!! I love to recreate the photos I had taken many years ago. As Geneviève becomes older, I can do the same photographies I had made with her mom many years ago.

Last year, I've decided to take a picture of the dress again, wiht my niece this time. But the image is not as good as the previous one. It's not the same time of year. Gene was only 13 whereas her mother was 16. DOF is better on the old slide. And there were lots of ants climbing mount Geneviève!!! :) I could take only one pic. But it's still interresting. One can see how she looks like her mom. And how the land has changed! The tree is a lot bigger! I think I'm going to take the same image again in May 2011... God willing....

POUR LES TANTINES

Ça fait 4 mois que maman les brodes. Les deux nappes sont finalement terminées!!! Ce qu'elles sont belles. Évidemment, il reste à les laver et repasser. Ce sera fait bientôt! Maman est une excellente brodeuse!!! :) Une artiste!

Quai des brumes... Une référence au film français? De temps en temps, un fin brouillard sort du sol... C'est très agréable! Bon pour la peau! :))))
Wharf of Mists.... A reference to the French movie, "Quai des Brumes" (Port of Shadows)...? From time to time, fog comes from the ground... It's beautiful and good for the skin! :))))

La promenade Samuel-De Champlain est un grand parc aménagé aux abords du fleuve St-Laurent. Don du gouvernement du Québec à la capitale pour son 400e anniversaire, le réaménagement des berges offre une oasis urbaine aux milliers de visiteurs.
La promenade en chiffres:
Superficie: : 200 000 m² longeant le fleuve sur 2,5 km
Végétation: : 1 500 arbres et 100 000 végétaux
Activités hivernales: : marche et raquette
Début du chantier: : juin 2006
Date d’inauguration: : 24 juin 2008

Activities in Winter: : walking and snowshoe

À l'extrémité ouest de la promenade se trouve le "Quai des Cageux". Une tour d'observation y a été aménagée. (Au XIXe siècle, le commerce du bois devint très important. On transportait le bois en le faisant «descendre» par le fleuve Saint-Laurent et les rivières. C'est l'époque des grands radeaux de bois que l'on appelle «cages». On nommait «cageux» les hommes courageux qui dirigeaient les cages sur le Fleuve.)
The "Quai des Cageux" with an observatory tower. (During the XIXth Century, wood commerce became very important in the Province. The wood was floating from the rivers to its destination. It was the time of big wooden rafts which were called "cages". The brave men who steered cages on the River were called "Cageux".)
