Tout près du Parlement, nous avons rencontré un troupeau d'ours tous plus colorés les uns que les autres...

Near the Legislative Building, we have met some very colorful bears.

Is there a story as to why there are colourful bears near the legistrative building? Is it to remind the politicians to not take life too seriously or telling them they are clowns?

I think there was a contest.... I've seen the same but with cows in other cities....Hheheh... For the politicians, I would think it's the second option.... :D

Yes, we had cows all over the place for a while. They travel. I've never seen the bears before.

btw: The Beast has thrown away the bones of Anon for you, MP. He just may get that tattoo - of you!

That's funny, because there's a "Find the Bear" contest going on in my area just now, with the same sort of painted bears.

I like these. :0)

Here what I found! "You don't have to go far to find bears in Winnipeg: in fact, just stroll down Broadway, between Main and Osborne Streets, and you'll find 62 of them. They are, of course, concrete, weighing in at 8,000 pounds, standing 7 feet tall, and wearing whimsical coats designed by artists from across the province. Bears on Broadway continues until Oct. 22 as a fundraiser for the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation"
