ILLUSTRATIONFRIDAY: IMAGINE

With this theme it's hard not to think about the Lennon's song. Imagine all the people living life in Peace... And I had this drawing I had done in the way of my favorite painter, Paul Klee. So I choose this image to illustrate this week subject. It makes me think of that pic of a girl giving a flower to a soldier, during a manifestation against the Vietnam War, in the sixties.

LOL

Klee is one of my very favourite artists, too. Lovely that you used his style to do this. I "imagine" you had a lot of fun with it! (I hea you had a big dump of snow yesterday -- well, I heard Montreal did.)

This is wonderful. Klee is one of my all time favorite artists too (esp. his "Twittering Machine"). It's funny how some people are saying how "cliche" it is to refer to the Lennon song yet so many people have done it here (including me). It just goes to show how great art or music can influence others (like yourself and the many other artists here) to make more great art.

Love the colours and the lines and a great way to interpret the Lennon song too. Klee is one of my faves too.

yes, I have to concur that it is virtually impossible to 'imagine' 'imagine' without thinking of john and yoko as I pointed out in my entry too.
a great colourful image you have posted and thanks for your *blush*
now just let me know when your plane is arriving and I will met you at the airport and we can begin our new life together being goofy and laughing a lot.

Andrea: Thanks. And yep, 41 cm of nice snow. Now it will take 4 or 5 days before returning to normal. I think it was worst in Montréal...
Steeve: I absolutely LOVE the twittering machine. I laughted a lot when I sat it for the first time. I want to post some animal drawings of Klee on my other blog soon...
Caroline: Wow! Lots of Klee fans here! I read a lot about him. He was a teacher at the Bauhauss of Weimar and wrote many things about art and art teaching. Those have been edited in two big books that I'm lucky enough to possess. And he died from a terrible disease: sclérodermia!

Scott: I love you too but as a big sis... I'm tooooo old for you, thirtysomething... If I were 10 years younger, I would go right now to your casba and we would make butiful music togezer......:o)

I see the Klee influence, but it has such a personal look as well. This is so pretty - the colors and movement create a positve message of peace.

I must've missed this first time around. Lovely interpretation and stylistically you are (very) true to your favourite artist....and while it is true that it is hard not to think of John Lennon's song, you have done something different with it. Bravo.
